Our Story

Locally owned and operated since May of 2004, Mid Ohio Shredding was
founded by two Central Ohio law enforcement officers who had a desire to dedicate themselves to the protection of consumer information.
 
They started Mid Ohio Shredding from a home based office in Sunbury, Ohio, and they worked it on a part time basis due to their full time dedication as sworn law enforcement officers.
During its infancy, the services they offered were primarily commercial and residential on site destruction of documents, or paper shredding.
In June of 2009, new partnerships were made and the company moved to their Westerville location.
This new location at 6305 Frost Road in Westerville, allowed our company  the ability to expand our services to not only our existing client base, but to the Central Ohio community as a whole.

In December 2009, we aquired new equipment that allows us to operate more effectively, enhance our services and offer new services.
At our Frost Road location, we have added the convenience service of what we call... "walk in and drop it off" as well as offering the service of "pick up" for off site shredding. Want to watch us shred it? Just ask!

We are proud of our team members, and for good reason. Quite often we receive calls from clients that want to let us know that our representatives are friendly, courteous, respectful, personable, and helpful. That they smile and say hello or good morning, and they call them if there are issues relating to their scheduled service.

Our teams combined experience of client service and business knowledge total more than 40 years.

We are pleased to tell you that our move has been so welcomed by the private and public sector that everyday that we open our doors our sense of purpose is validated.

Our Environment

Since our first truckload in 2004, Mid Ohio Shredding has recycled 100% of all shredded paper, cardboard and paperboard.
We began tracking our recycling efforts in the fourth quarter of 2006.
Since that time we have recycled approximately 742.43 tons of shredded paper. That's equivalent to 1,484,860 pounds and 12,621.31 mature trees!

We are pleased to have a positive impact on our environment.
                                      
                                             Paper Recycling Facts

    *Each ton (2000 pounds) of recycled paper can save 17 mature trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 kilowatts of energy, and 7000 gallons of water.

    *The average American uses 7 trees a year in paper, wood, and other products made from trees. This amounts to about 2 BILLION trees per year!

    *Approximately 1 billion trees worth of paper are thrown away every year in the United States.

    *Recycling a single run of the New York Times would save 75,000 trees.
